Dupzy Privacy Policy

Effective: August 19, 2026

Summary

Dupzy does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The app has no servers: your photos and everything Dupzy learns about them stay on your device.

The App Store privacy label for Dupzy is Data Not Collected.

Scope

This policy covers the Dupzy app for iPhone and iPad. Dupzy is an independent app published by jsp.im.

Data we collect

None. Dupzy has no backend, transmits no data, and receives no data about you.

What Dupzy stores on your device

Everything below stays in the app’s private storage, which other apps cannot read. Dupzy does not use iCloud, so none of it is synced between your devices, and none of it is transmitted to us or readable by us. Your photos themselves are never copied out of your photo library.

What Why How long
The results of the last scan: which photos were grouped as duplicates, which look blurry, and which are screenshots To show your review queue without scanning everything again Until the next scan, or until you remove the app
Your review decisions: what you have already kept or dismissed So the app stops asking about photos you have settled Until you remove the app
Preferences: scan options, background scanning, notifications To keep the app configured the way you set it Until you change them or remove the app

Photo library

Dupzy asks for access to your photo library so it can find duplicate, blurry, and screenshot photos. Photos are analyzed on your device using Apple’s Vision framework, and no photo, thumbnail, or piece of image data is ever uploaded.

You can grant access to your whole library or limit it to Selected Photos, and you can change or revoke it at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Photos.

Deleting is always your decision. When you choose to remove photos, iOS shows its own confirmation before anything is deleted, and deleted photos go to Recently Deleted where you can restore them for 30 days.

Background scanning

If you turn it on, Dupzy re-scans your library periodically in the background using Apple’s on-device frameworks. This scan makes no network request and sends nothing anywhere.

Notifications

Notifications from Dupzy are created on your device by the app itself, to tell you when a background scan has found something worth reviewing. They carry counts only, never a photo or anything about one. They are not sent from a server, and Dupzy sends no marketing or promotional notifications.

Home Screen widget

The optional widget reads the same on-device database, from a container shared between the app and the widget, so it can show what is ready for review without the app running. It communicates over no network.

Purchases

Dupzy Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, sold and managed by Apple through the App Store. We never see, collect, or store payment card details. The app receives only confirmation of whether you own the purchase, verified on your device. Apple provides us only with aggregated, anonymous sales reporting that does not identify individual customers.

Security and deletion

Your data is protected by the sandboxing and encryption built into iOS and iPadOS, together with your passcode or biometric lock. No method of storage is completely secure, but nothing leaves your device to be intercepted.

To delete Dupzy’s data, remove the app. That erases its scan results, your review decisions, and your preferences. Your photos are unaffected: they belong to your photo library, not to Dupzy. Because we hold no copy of anything, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Third parties

Apple is the only third party involved, and only in its normal role as distributor: App Store downloads, updates, purchases, and ratings are handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Dupzy has no third-party SDKs. We do not sell or share personal information.

If you use the app’s report-a-problem option, it opens a pre-filled email containing only your app version, build number, and device OS version. It never includes a photo, photo metadata, or your review history, and sending it is your decision. We receive whatever you write and your email address, and use them only to answer you.

Children

Dupzy is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country).

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold none. Your photos and Dupzy’s scan results are on your device and under your sole control, and you can delete them at any time using the steps above. We do not sell or share personal information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
